About

Our Mission

Every generation gets one moment to turn potential into purpose.

Rootz of Strength is institutional infrastructure designed to establish visible order across student development environments. Existing activity remains where it is. Rootz provides one governing structure through which standards become visible. It is a movement built around four pillars that move like a heartbeat — Cultural Leadership, Financial Literacy, Wellness, and Tech & Media Leadership. We help students discover who they are, what they can build, and how to lead. In school, in business, and in life.

LaVell Walton

Founder & Impact Architect

LaVell Walton founded Rootz of Strength with one belief — that when culture becomes power, everything changes. As an Impact Architect, LaVell has built a system that doesn’t just serve students, it transforms the institutions around them.

Through Rootz, the curriculum and creative systems have been licensed and outsourced across the United States, South Africa, the Philippines, and Japan — proving that purpose and innovation can coexist at a global scale.

LaVell’s vision is simple: give the next generation the space, the systems, and the support to turn their roots into strength.

The Four Pillars

Rootz is built around four pillars. Each one is designed to develop the whole student — not just academically, but culturally, financially, physically, and professionally. Rootz of Strength is a classification infrastructure. Existing environments remain active. Rootz identifies what is already present, places it under one governing language, and allows leadership to see institutional movement clearly over time.

01

Cultural Leadership

Students discover their identity, their heritage, and their power to lead within their community and beyond.

02

Financial Literacy

Students learn to launch businesses, manage resources, and build financial foundations that last a lifetime.

03

Wellness

Students build sustainable wellness routines and access an athletic feeder system that takes them from beginner to pro.

04

Tech & Media Leadership

Students produce their own content through Roots TV, develop digital skills, and lead in the media landscape.

The Model

The Seed to Harvest Model.

Start small. Grow strong. Scale globally. Rootz has the licensing for the curriculum and creative systems that power everything; non-profit partners bring those systems to life inside schools and communities across the world.

“From Seattle to Johannesburg, we are proving that leadership can look like culture — and that schools can become engines of legacy.”

— LaVell Walton, Founder

Currently active in the United States, South Africa, the Philippines, and Japan — with more communities joining the system every season.

About Us

Why Rootz Exists

Youth systems are active across institutions, but they are not structured to be seen or governed as one.

What Exists Today

Activity exists across schools, programs, and partners. Each environment operates with its own definitions, its own reporting, and its own way of measuring progress. Leadership is left managing activity without a shared system of visibility.

Why This Matters

Without a shared structure, activity remains fragmented. With Rootz, everything aligns under one system, making leadership decisions clearer and more informed.
